Sun protecting drinks and tips for the Summer

Summer is here and I'm going on vacation! I'll be spending some time in the lovely region of the south of France. Can't wait to have time to have fun and enjoy moments of relaxation.I gotta say that a vacation right now is perfect. Paris is so empty and I definetaly need a break from the city.

As I've mentioned before, I'm a Caribbean girl so the sun is no stranger to me. With the years and several bad tanning experiences, I've learned my lesson on sun exposure. And ladies, we are not getting any younger ! Skin protection is key to staying radiant. There is no science here, sunblock is our best ally. But can we do more than just lather on cream and wear big hats? Yes.

Here below I have some tips to staying healthy and hydrated from the inside out. Any time during the day is a good moment to enjoy a refreshing drink or snack. The key here is consuming enough antioxidant foods.

These foods are your friends when you are out in the sun.
  • Watermelon : source of lycopene and full of water!
  • All berries : source of anthocyanins.
  • Red and orange fruits/ veggies : lycopene, beta carotene.
  • Leafy greens : Anti cancer properties
  • Fish : They have those good for you fatty acids.
  • Dark chocolate(60% or over) : flavanoids.
  • Ginger : Anti inflammatory and full of antioxidants.
  • Gogi berries:  Help neutralize free radicals form the sun exposure and they are so easy to snack on!
Here are two recipes I share with you so you stay healthy and beautiful for years to come. They are from one of my favorite bloggers, their links are posted below.
